Netflix & Study – Rewards

When I’m studying I like to set up rewards for myself to serve as motivation. Sometimes the reward is 1 hour of video games and other times it’s one 1 hour of television. Here are some of the television programmes I’ve been rewarding myself with as of late (Note: they’re not all new shows, just ones that I’ve been watching now):

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries 2

1. Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries

Based Kerry Greenwood’s Phyrne Fishers Detective novels (do check them out if you enjoy the show), it introduces us to the world of the Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher lady detective. Set in Melbourne, Australia, it takes place in the 1920s, following Phryne as she solves mysteries and captures hearts. The thing I love about it is how modern and progressive Phryne is, and she lives her life to the fullest regardless of what anyone else thinks. Plus the costumes are absolutely gorgeous!

2. A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix)

Now I’ve actually already completed the series but I’m currently re-watching it. If ever you were a fan of the original movie starring Jim Carey, or a fan of the books you should check this out if you haven’t already. Now I just have to wait for the second season!

A Very Secret Service Netflix.jpg

3. A Very Secret Service (Netflix)

It’s absurd, it’s outrageous and it’s French. Need I say more? (Oh, and it’s great to study your French with)

Lovesick Netflix.jpg

4. Lovesick (Netflix)

This one stars Antonia Thomas, one of my favourite actresses whom you might know from Misfits (An absolutely amazing show that you should check out if you haven’t already!). It’s about love and loss and figuring out what you want. They’re currently working on Season 3 and I can’t wait, especially after that ending in Season 2. My heart!

Westworld HBO.jpg

5. Westworld (HBO)

I know, I’m late on the bandwagon with this one… but better late than never! This show is absolutely brilliant. I could kick myself for not watching it sooner. It’s highly addictive and the storyline is amazing. If you haven’t watched it go do yourself a favour and go watch. Although, fair warning, it’s highly addictive, so it’d be best if you started watching it on a day when you can stay inside and binge watch because that’s what you’ll most likely end up doing.

Netflix Riverdale.jpg

6. Riverdale (Netflix)

For those of you familiar with Archie Comics, this is what Riverdale’s based on. However, it’d be best if you threw everything you knew about Archie Comics out of the window when watching this series. It’s got murder, sex, lies and it seems to be hinting at the supernatural. The acting isn’t the best, neither is the script, but for some reason, I can’t stop watching it.

Now, this next one is on my to watch list, but I haven’t actually gotten a chance to get around to it. The previews look amazing though and it involves food.  Needless to say, I’ll be watching it soon.
